The prophet Sanboy (Gennady Gerasimovich Chernetsov), an eccentric provincial musician from the town of Yartsevo, Smolensk region, is the hero and only character in the film ‘Sanboy the Prophet’. During his career he composed more than two thousand songs and performed abroad. He was listed in the Guinness Book of Records for playing the guitar on a bicycle for a distance of 80 km, without using his hands to steer. As a result the Czech president presented him with a bus. After leaving Europe and returning to his native town he was viewed with suspicion by the local authorities, who unlawfully tried to confiscate his bus and have him declared insane.
